Reiki Lineage & Education

My path as a Reiki practitioner and teacher has been shaped by more than fifteen years of meditation, energy healing, spiritual practice, and continued study. I began my formal training in Primordial Sound Meditation in 2009 with Lisa Guyman, followed by White Light Reiki with Barbara Scott in 2012. In 2019, I returned to study with Lisa Guyman, completing Usui Reiki I and II, and in 2020 received my Reiki Master Teacher training.

My Reiki education is grounded in the traditional teachings and lineage of Mikao Usui, founder of the Usui Reiki system. My studies have continued to deepen through both Western Reiki training and Japanese Reiki practice. From 2022–2024, I served as a Reiki Teacher Assistant, gaining additional experience supporting students as they developed their own relationship with Reiki.

In 2026, I traveled to Kauai, Hawaii, to study Komyo ReikiDo Shinpiden directly with Hyakuten Inamoto Sensei, founder of Komyo ReikiDo and a student of Chiyoko Yamaguchi, who learned Reiki from teachers connected to Chujiro Hayashi. I am currently continuing this path as a Komyo ReikiDo Shihan Candidate. This training has further strengthened my appreciation for Reiki's Japanese roots, simplicity, meditation practices, and emphasis on Reiki as a lifelong spiritual path—not simply a hands-on healing technique.

My education has also expanded beyond traditional Reiki. I have completed training in Animal Reiki and Biofield Therapy and am currently pursuing additional education in End-of-Life Doula care through the University of Vermont, Singing Bowls with Ann Martin of Blissful Bowls, and Trauma Healing Coaching. These complementary studies allow me to approach healing, teaching, and end-of-life support with greater awareness of the whole person—and, when appropriate, the human-animal bond.

Since 2020, I have also volunteered with LifeSpark Cancer Resources in Colorado, offering Reiki to individuals affected by cancer. This work continues to remind me that the heart of Reiki is presence, compassion, humility, and service.

I believe a Reiki teacher's education never truly ends. My own practice continues to evolve through study, meditation, self-Reiki, teaching, mentorship, and a commitment to honoring both the traditions from which Reiki emerged and the unique journey of every student I teach.

Honoring Mikao Usui

Mikao Usui Enhanced .avif

August 15, 1865 - March 9, 1926

With deep respect and gratitude, I honor Mikao Usui (Usui Mikao Sensei), the founder of the system of Reiki that has touched lives around the world. His teachings emphasized not only healing, but also personal growth, spiritual practice, mindfulness, and living with greater compassion and integrity.

Usui Sensei's legacy continues through generations of Reiki practitioners and teachers who preserve, practice, and share his teachings. I am grateful to be part of this living lineage and strive to honor Reiki's Japanese roots with humility, respect, and reverence.

May the teachings of Usui Sensei continue to inspire healing, inner peace, and compassionate service for generations to come.
